It is not my first time over there.
It is not my first time over there. It is a very charming little village with things to do in every season of the year. It has a perfect distance from the towns e.g. Beverwijk and Heemskerk and to Alkmar or Amsterdam. It has been my favourite beach village near Amsterdam in Holland so far.

It is a beautiful small peaceful town in a lovely area right on the coast. It centres around a very large grassy 'field' where local horses graze. We only found one shop (Spar) but several restaurants although the menus were somewhat limited. We found the best places to eat were the restaurants on the beach, only a ten minutes walk away.

The location is close to the downtown area and pretty much everything you want to see and all the restaurants are within easy walking distance. There's a well-stocked Spar grocery/convenience store two blocks away. The hosts have pretty much anticipated all the needs of a traveler and provided for them. I was in Wijk aan Zee to visit a friend at Heliomare and this was the perfect place to stay. It had a very relaxing atmosphere and I wish I could have stayed for longer. Definitely my choice for a return visit.

Clean rooms, spacious. The bed is indeed a bit on the soft side, but for us quite OK. Easy to reach and the beach is just around the corner. A nice surprise - the parking is included in the price if booked via booking.com
